Volkswagen Beetle 2012

Much has been speculated about what it would be the new Volkswagen Beetle. And today, almost all brands have in mind or are developing, some type of reduced-size model with a retro style, and Volkswagen being left behind with the new Beetle. We have been camouflaged, and even speculated that it could be in Shanghai in a few days. However, VW Beetle has released today data and official photos of the new Beetle 2012. Longer and wider than its predecessor, the new vw 2012 Beetle will remain inspired by the original Beetle, but far more modern than we expected, at least seeing the spy shots we saw a while ago.

As a final result, the new Beetle possesses a blend of retro style with a modern twist, with a more aggressive and more elongated with a roof, and a steeper windshield. Of course, a much more aggressive and dramatic that we expected, but I personally like it better than the previous model. A Beetle 2012, which is approved for four people, and we will have up to five versions.

In this way, buyers can choose between three petrol and two diesel, with the three petrol: a 1.2 TSI engine with 105 hp, one of 1.4 TSI 160 hp and more powerful engine 2, 0 TSI 200 hp. As for the two diesel models, we have: a 1.6 TDI engine with 105 hp and more powerful 2.0 TDI and 140 hp. Of course, all of which may bear an optional automatic gearbox double clutch "DSG".

As for the less powerful variants, which are the gasoline engine with 105 hp 1.2 TSI (5.5 l/100 km) and 1.6 TDI diesel engine 105 hp (4.3 l/100 km), have the package "Bluemotion Technology" which will include certain steps to ensure that fuel consumption is minimized, for example, the Auto Start & Stop system stops operating in, among other improvements.

And as for the more powerful engines (two petrol engines more powerful 160 and 200 hp), take the standard limited-slip front differential, called "XDS" and that we saw in the Golf GTI. This system, XDS, works in a curve, when a wheel loses grip due to excessive acceleration (usually the inside of the curve), the system intervenes to stop it and so the outer wheel can be made stronger, and not lose traction at the output of the curves.

We leave you with the official photos of this beautiful model, and hope to see in the Hall of Shanghai.
